Wet Dog Nose Legend

There a few theories about why dogs noses are wet. One theory is that a dog’s nose is wet because the dog constantly licks its nose. Another belief is that a dog’s nose needs moisture to help capture scents. The most interesting explanation is a legend about why dogs have wet noses. The legend says a dog saved Noah’s ark from sinking. The dog found a hole in the hull of the ark and stuck its nose in it to stop the water. A second dog ran to get Noah, who then repaired the hole. God bestowed a wet nose on dogs as a sign of good health because of the dogs’ heroic actions on Noah’s ark.
