Candyheart Retrievers

At Candyheart Retrievers we have a limited number of Labrador Retrievers that live with us in our home as part of the family. Our love of these two breeds has grown into a hobby which brings us great joy. We spend a lot of time with our dogs playing, training, and just enjoying life. We are also active in Conformation Shows, Hunt Tests, and Obedience Trials.

Each of our dogs start training by earning an AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Certificate, and from there we decide which activity each dog would most excel in. Some of our dogs are Champions of the show ring, some are titled hunting retrievers, and a couple hold multiple AKC titles. We compete with our dogs, not only for the wonderful bonding experience working with your dogs brings, but also because we believe in holding our dogs to the strict standards set forth by the AKC (American Kennel Club). Therefore, we only produce dogs that meet the breed standard, and in doing so are able to maintain the integrity of the breed through the years.

We only breed when we plan to keep a pup for ourselves to carry on the lines of our dogs, hoping for improvement in each new generation. Since our dogs are treasured members of the family, and never just kennel dogs, they are very well socialized, loved, trained, and cared for. Our dogs have exceptional temperaments, and must pass preliminary health certifications to be cleared for any genetic issues before ever producing a litter of pups. When we do have pups available for placement, we are very selective in our screening process. Only responsible, loving, long-long term homes will be considered, and all pups must be spayed or neutered at an appropriate age to prevent unplanned or accidental litters from contributing to the pet overpopulation problem.

Each puppy is sent to their new home with an extensive puppy care package that includes, but is not limited to, an AKC registration application or certificate, a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, a copy of the pup's 4 or 5 generation pedigree, complete parent info with photos & copies of their health clearances from the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) & CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation), a starter bag of food (Purina One Large Breed Puppy) and vitamin supplements (NuVet Plus), information on raising, caring, training, and socializing your new puppy, and a signed copy of our written sales contract and two year money-back health guarantee. (Unlike many generic health guarantees, we offer money back WITHOUT forcing you to give up your pet and return him or her to us, unless you specifically wish us to take it back. Before purchasing a new pup from anyone, make sure you understand the terms of their contract and/or guarantee. A pup is only as good as the guarantee it comes with.)

Because we care a great deal for our dogs and puppies, we will always be available to address any questions or concerns you may have regarding your Candyheart puppy. In addition, if at any time during the pup's life you find yourself in a position where you are no longer willing or able to care for it, we will be more than willing to either welcome it back here with us or to assist you in finding it a loving new home.
