Description: The Chiweenie is a mix of Chihuahua and the Dachshund and can be a miniature dog or standard size, depending on the parents they are bred from. This is a relatively new breed, so little information is available on this breed. However, it is a gentle dog, like it's parents and very good with children.

Height: 5 to 9 inches
Weight: 6 to 11 pounds, depending on parents (Miniatures or Standard sizes)

Color: Browns, blacks, cream, white, reds, tan and any combination of those colors.
Coat: Generally short-haired, soft; not recommended for allergy sufferers

Temperament: Gentle, playful temperament; energetic, yet highly trainable.
With Children: High - Excellent with children.

Training: Since this breed comes out of the Dachshund, which is average in learning obedience, and the Chihuahua, which is fairly easy to train, the Chiweenie can be typically easy to train.
